We're a small, dedicated and international team of athletes, academics, inventors and entrepreneurs. We've been together since October 2007 and our products have already been featured in the New York Times and hundreds of other print media and blogs. Web Backend & Data Systems Engineer
You love creating innovative solutions to tough problems without clear answers. You understand the different ways data can be stored, accessed and analyzed, and you have the scripting skills to use it. You know the technologies for handling large datasets like the back of your hand.

You will be working with a small team of talented engineers, mathematicians and analysts to translate business data collection and processing goals into robust, highly scalable applications that will take Younoodle to the forefront of the private company analysis space.

Responsibilities:
- Tackle big-data problems using the latest distributed computation tools (Hadoop, et al.) to derive insight from large data sets.
- Combine multiple sources of data from APIs, RSS feeds, and human input into a structured data store while efficiently handling issues like duplication, data integrity, and (non)relational structure.
- Designing and implementing robust, scalable systems for efficiently collecting, storing, and accessing large amounts of data.
Requirements:
- 4+ years experience, ideally handling large datasets for large or quickly growing web companies.
- Experience with large scale data processing using distributed technologies such as Map-Reduce.
- Experience with web technologies HTML/CSS/JS/ActionScript and 1 or more scripting language (e.g. PHP, Ruby, Python).
- Solid understanding of web service protocols: REST, XML-RPC, SOAP.
- Extensive experience with relational and non-relational data stores like MySQL/PostrgreSQL, MongoDB, CouchDB, HBase, Cassandra, Memcached, etc.
- Understanding of basic statistical distributions and techniques.
Product Manager

YouNoodle is seeking a superstar Product Manager to harness our talented team of engineers and mathematicians. You will bring strong design principles, an irritating level of attention to detail, and optimism for what is possible when great minds work together.

Our data is used by an audience of tens of millions through media partners including Bloomberg BusinessWeek. What you see online from us right now is the tip of the iceberg.
Founded in San Francisco in 2007, investors include Peter Thiel (PayPal, Facebook, Palantir) and Gordon Crovitz (Dow Jones, Wall Street Journal). We are an international team (10 nationalities) of scientists, engineers, designers, athletes and data geeks.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the redesign of two important interfaces, within the first three months, and own them moving forward.
- Set a vision and maintain a roadmap for all products.
- Design wireframes and write technical specifications.
- Adhere to deadlines by coordinating release schedules.
- Work with our graphic designer to deliver the visual components of the interface.
- Understand external and internal client needs in order to make effective product decisions.
- Act as the intermediary between management and the technical team, responsible for communicating priorities, progress and milestones.
- Research all the related products and become an expert on their strengths and weaknesses.
Technical Requirements:
- 3+ years in product management roles.
- BA in Computer Science or similar degree preferred.
- Experience and understanding of the many ways to interface with data.
- Experience with Agile development processes.
- Familiarity with project management / ticketing systems (e.g. Redmine, Lighthouse, Trac, etc).
- Experience of behavior-driven development / test-driven development a big plus.
- Experience with QA / release processes (continuous deployment, release cycles, Selenium) a plus.
