Wigadoo is premised on one universal consumer pain: organising a group of friends is difficult, especially when money is involved. Whether you want to book a ski chalet or a bunch of theatre tickets, someone needs to organise it and they typically face a very difficult task. It’s almost impossible to get meaningful commitment from friends so you are never sure how many people will come and you often end up paying for everyone up front and then chasing friends for cash for months afterwards. Wigadoo makes it easy to propose a plan to your friends and to get your friends to pledge support when they say yes. This means the money is lined up ready to spend for when the organiser wants to book. Easy.
Just as organisers love us because we make their lives easier, travel and leisure websites love us for a different reason. We recognise that currently when someone is considering making a group purchase they normally find the product on a travel site, look at the large total cost in the checkout and then leave the site to go and talk to their friends about it. Wigadoo offers a way for these people to continue their engagement by socialising the content amongst their friends and then getting people to pledge support for the plan. Once enough people are interested and the money is collected, we can deliver the group back to the travel site checkout with the money, ready to buy. We effectively help convert anonymous browsers into groups of friends with money lined up, ready to purchase.
