ABOUT US

Hitchsters is an online service and fully-operational website that conveniently connects travelers going to and from airports so that they can share a cab, and thus split the fare. A user enters his information and the matching system pairs him with a co-rider that fits his travel itinerary. When matched, each party gets an e-mail/text message, and then contacts each other to share the cab. Hitchsters also offers a unique social aspect -- a user can express a preference for the gender of their co-rider.

As the first ride-share service of its kind, Hitchsters has enjoyed press coverage and commands “top of mind” awareness over the competition. Hitchsters has been featured on the ABC “Money Matters” show, CBS News, Wall Street Journal, USAToday, AMNewYork, as well as the DailyCandy and Flavorpill newsletters. Time Magazine recognized Hitchsters as one of the “Best 50 Websites of 2007” and most recently, Springwise rated Hitchsters #2 in the “Top 10 Tourism and Travel Business Ideas in 2007”.
