ABOUT US
CivSpark is a whole new institution (acting alongside traditional charity, billionaires' philanthropy, and government taxation) for public good and social progress. It leverages the Internet (specifically, the social web and the Long Tail) to 'opensource' philanthropy, opening it up to everyday punters like you and me. By acting together we can drive progress just as well as the next billionaire.
CivSpark lets users pool resources to create prize funds that incentivise others to come up with solutions - so we're blending crowdfunding and crowdsourcing. Contributors to the fund vote to choose the winner, but the real winner is society, which benefits from the innovation and progress from each person inspired by the prize.

Very interesting idea. I like it. I am sure it will gain much traction with media coverage as everyone likes ideas aimed towards helping society in general. The prize fund concept works in many other models, but the key is gaining the traction on this model.
Let me know what you think and if you need some help in dev.
Thanks.
