ABOUT US
Ashager is a Non Governmental Organization (NGO) governed by a Board of Directors and IRS code 501 (C) (3). It was founded in 2004 in the state of California, USA as a non-profit organization by Samuel Z. Alemayehu and Bowen Jiang.
Ashager is committed to empowering Ethiopia one project at a time. Comprised of people armed with intellectual prose and the spirit of compassion, Ashager aims to improve education and healthcare in Africa. In our first two years of operation, we provided software and wireless telemedical infrastructure to abridge the informational gap facing health professionals in remote hospitals of third world countries. Currently, Ashager is working closely with hospitals, educational institutions, and research laboratories in Addis Ababa and Jimma, Ethiopia. Our projects include: fully equipping electrical engineering labs and dental clinics, facilitating the donation of advanced textbooks to universities, and providing resources for those who otherwise would not have the opportunity to learn and thrive. Ultimately, Ashager is about helping Africa from the ground up: we do not simply provide humanitarian aid, we empower the citizens with resources and education so they can rise up themselves.

This is a fantastic cause. I am looking for some work in Africa and this could possibly be something that interests me. My background is in media studies and African studies. I would love to help out on the tech side with this endeavor if you're looking for any more help.
thanks, megan
