Through CREACTIVE, IACT students not only gain work experience but also have the chance to hone their respective skills and put into practice what they have learnt in theory. Since its birth almost seven years ago, CREACTIVE has been hired by various organisations to conduct market research, design corporate profiles, publicity banners, advertisements, posters and execute event presentations. Clientele of CREACTIVE range from non-governmental organisations (NGO) such as Persatuan Pengasuh Berdaftar Malaysia (PPBM) to retail outlets to an advertising association such as the Association of Accredited Advertising Agencies (4As). Our project, PROJECT: UnMasked: The Story Behind HIV/AIDS. Project UnMasked: The Story behind HIV/AIDS is a Corporate Social Responsibility project organized by the final year students of the subject Corporate Communication (IAA 65 and 66 of IACT). Project UnMasked, reveals the ‘real’ stories of discrimination and fear experienced by people living with HIV/AIDS. Our aim is to break the stereotypical ideas of the situation, realizing that there are no physical differences between someone who is HIV+ and who is not. Thus, the tagline for the project, “Eradicate Stigma, Asserting Empathy”. Objectives: 1. To address on the issue of HIV/AIDS based on the stigma and the treatment towards its carriers. 2. To execute an event enlightening the public regarding the discrimination of HIV/AIDS carriers. 3. To create more visibility on the charitable efforts of IACT students for the community. Date: 25th April 2009 Time: 10:00am - 7:00pm Venue: Jaya One (Section 13, Petaling Jaya), MALAYSIA Event: 1. Photography Exhibition cum Competition. 2. Music (DJs, acoustic performances, dance). 3. Informational booths from PINK Triangle Foundation (PTF), National Cancer Society Malaysia (NCSM) and Institute Advertising Communication Training (IACT). Project UnMasked will certainly be an event that is educational and will bring the public to realize the discrimination and ignorance towards the people living with HIV/AIDS.
