Through the Shell Step program I was one of 30 successful applicants out of 1000 to be placed on an internship in a small company. I worked at LUUP, a company that enables people to pay, send and receive money via SMS, to create their Christmas marketing campaign. I worked both in a team and individually to research, plan and begin processes for the marketing initiatives. I then presented these ideas to senior management and in meetings and conferences with charities such as the National Aids Trust and other merchants working with the company. My confidence and communication skills grew rapidly and although support was available, the project and outcomes were solely my responsibility.
