WORK EXPERIENCE

Employer: Research In Motion
Position: BlackBerry Platforms Developer
Time period: May 2008 - December 2008
Description: • Developed the first ever BlackBerry eBay application using eBay’s shopping and trading APIs. My responsibility was to create authentication, messaging and my favorite’s components of the application.
• Provided help and support to other team members regarding technical issues they had with environment set up and application development.
• Gained extensive experience through research, design, implementation and development of the application. Technologies used include HTML, WSDL, XML, JavaScript, MDS Studio, Java, Perforce & ecoe client.

Employer: IBM
Position: Websphere Business Integration Developer
Time period: September 2007 - May 2008
Description: • Developed in-depth knowledge of large-scale software products by creating test cases and debugging techniques using tools like Java, XML, WSDL and eclipse IDE.
• Improved my technical writing skills by writing bug reports and documenting source code for other team members to use for future reference.
• Built a web interface for Websphere’s assembly editor using Adobe Flex and flash action script.

Position: DB2 Developer
Time period: May 2007 - September 2007
Description: • In order to estimate migration time length, worked on a project that uses Perl scripting & DB2 pureXML technology to store raw migration log files into a database that can be accessed by a PHP web application to facilitate the log data online to other DB2 testing teams.
• Performed defect bug fixing as a part of the DB2 Catalog team. Vi Editor, TotalView debugger and db2scope are some of the tools used in the process.

Description: • Developed detail-oriented skills by locating errors and mistakes in the linguistic layout of the website.
• Initiated a proposal to redesign and reformat the current Student Financial Services website to make it user friendly, dynamic and professional. The proposal initiative gained my employer’s support and was used as a building stone for further improvements by other web development teams.
• Gained professional communication skills by providing technical email and phone support to inquiries from students.
