Description: Society of the Mind: I created and maintained the web page for the Society of Mind class taught by Marvin Minsky. Worked on the perceptual/visual system that will be used by the artificial baby for the Common Sense Project. Also I worked on the web interface using Java so as to provide interested people with a telepresence to the baby’s world.
COG Project: Worked in the fields of robotics, robot vision, and AI under Lynn Stein and Rodney Brooks to develop a system of video capturing and processing for the COG robot. During my time there I worked on frame grabbers.
Neuroscience: Volunteered to help work on a 3 dimensional voxel image from data generated by a confocal microscope. The purpose was to continuously capture images from a CCD camera so as to study neuron growth and possible regeneration.

PUBLICATIONS

Patents: US Patent (20040093328) - Methods and systems for automated semantic knowledge leveraging graph theoretic analysis and the inherent structure of communication.
A system that processes a collection of one or more documents and thereby constructs a knowledge base is described. The system leverages innovative graph theoretical analysis of documents using the inherent structure in communication. Through the generation of the automated knowledge base the system is able to provide intra-document analysis such as variable summarization and indexing, document key concepts, better filtering and relevance matching on a semantic level for documents, context dependant directories, document categorization, better basis for natural language processing, new knowledge and information through the amalgamation of the data (collection intelligence).
