FULL BIO
Amie Vaccaro is an independent consultant, specializing in business development, social impact analysis, marketing, communications and program and business strategy for companies with social and environmental goals.
Previously, Amie has worked as Director of Business Development and Marketing at Viv (www.doyouviv.com), which gives consumers an easy and powerful way to drive environmental change. There she was responsible for developing all partnerships and relationships necessary for rapid growth, spearheading investor conversations and other fundraising efforts, and end to end marketing, execution and community building for a new core product launch which resulted in doubling twitter followers, 50% increase in newsletter subscribers, 25% growth in Facebook fans, enhanced web traffic, and 11 media mentions/articles about the new program in 1 month. As Program Manager at SVT Group, Amie developed an “SROI Lite” calculator tool that provides a consistent mechanism by which organization staff may assess the potential impact and return on investment of disparate programs. The tool has been made a part of SVT’s core product suite. While at SVT, Amie was also responsible for managing a team of interns, managing the co-working space, creating marketing materials, developing new business, and recruiting. As an Associate Consultant with Bain & Company, Amie worked with Fortune 500 and nonprofit clients on critical business issues in the healthcare, retail, and utilities spaces. She focused on growth strategy, cost reduction and organizational performance improvement. While at Bain she also founded and led a Green Team for the 300-employee San Francisco office, which achieved significant strides in reducing the company’s carbon footprint. At start-up green media company, Green Zebra, where she refined the venture’s sustainable savings guides, built and managed relationships with local businesses, potential sponsors, and was instrumental in the development of important corporate, government and small business sponsor relationships.
Amie graduated phi beta kappa with a B.S. with high honors from Brown University. She is fluent in Spanish and loves to learn and travel. She writes for TriplePundit, GreenBiz, NextBillion and Sustainable Industries about green business, enviro-savvy entrepreneurs, social and eco-innovation, and other bright ideas. She is a member of the Full Circle Fund's Environment Circle, New Leaders Council's Advisory Board, and spoke at Net Impact 2009 about finding a green job.
