Adrian Calder

Upon completing his MBA here in Cambridge in summer 2007, Adrian joined the Cambridge Angels as their retained Consultant working directly for the Chairman. Over the past year his primary role has been to help the Chair manage the group’s deal-flow and conducting the first review of unsolicited business plans, and he also assists with syndication initiatives, produces the group’s Annual Portfolio Review, as well as shadowing the Lead Angel on any new deal, if required.

Prior to his MBA, Adrian spent 10 years working in consulting and business development roles initially in the business services sector, before moving into professional services. Having initially expected to return from his MBA sabbatical to Ernst & Young in London, where he has an Assistant Director in their Transaction Advisory Services practice, instead Adrian chose to seize the opportunity to become the first professional ever to work with the Cambridge Angels. Many years ago, he was also an undergraduate at the University of Cambridge from 1994-97.

During his spare time, Adrian also consults to start-ups in the Cambridge Cluster, and enjoys socialising with aspiring entrepreneurs with new business ideas – challenging them to think the unthinkable about their go-to-market strategy and business model.

Aside from work, Adrian is a keen SCUBA diver and has been a lifelong fan of the current European Champions - Manchester United!
