ABOUT US
The Queen Rania National Entrepreneurship Competition (QRNEC) provides a platform to increase the interest of Jordanian university students in designing a path to achieve their dreams.
The competition strives to advocate entrepreneurial skills as students coalesce their university knowledge with their resources along with their competitive drive to create a business plan that is both practical and innovative.
The vision of QRNEC is to evolve and expand into a comprehensive entrepreneurship enabler, involved in fostering creativity, incubating viable concepts, and facilitating the success of entrepreneurial ventures to a level that affects the cultural orientation of the Jordanian community.
The finalists of the third year of the Queen Rania National Entrepreneurship Competition (QRNEC) will be awarded the following prizes:
“Entrepreneurs from Academia” Category:
* First: JD 15000, plus in-kind rewards.
* Second: JD 10000, plus in-kind rewards.
* Third: In-kind rewards.
“Mature Entrepreneurs” Category:
* First: JD 15000, plus in-kind rewards.
* Second: JD 10000, plus in-kind rewards.
* Third: In-kind rewards.
For this year, QRNEC has two additional special awards:
1. Google Award For the Best Online Business Plan
Google is offering an award to encourage and support budding entrepreneurs with innovative ideas for online businesses in Jordan and beyond. The Google Award will recognize the boldest, most innovative and most scalable online business plan.
The winner of the Google Award will receive a prize of US $ 10,000. Throughout the competition, Google will offer technical and business lectures and will provide finalists with advice and insights to help participants polish their innovative ideas.
2. KADDB Award for the Best Business Plan in Defense and Security
King Abdullah II Design and Development Bureau, a pioneer in scientific research and development in defense and security sectors in Jordan and the region, will be offering a special cash award of $10.000 for the best business plan for a defense and security project.
In addition, all finalists will receive invaluable in-kind rewards offered by the Queen Rania National Entrepreneurship Competition.
* Free subscription/memberships in local and international organizations and publications.
* Free training courses.
* Legal and accounting services (company registration, the registration of patents, trademarks).
* Incubation services.
* Linking between entrepreneurs and investors around the world.

Professor Khalid Al-Begain confirmed as President of EuroSim
The General Board of the Federation of the European Simulation Societies (EuroSim) in its meeting in Vienna on 17th January 2010 confirmed the appointment of Professor Khalid Al-Begain from the University of Glamorgan,UK as the incoming president of the organisation.
Professor Al-Begain (Jordanian nationality) will be installed in his new role in September 2010 during the EuroSim Congress in Prague to mark the start of the first UK presidecy of EuroSim.
This appointment will come as Professor Al-Begain concludes his second and final term as President of the European Council for Modelling and Simulation in June 2010. With the new appointment, he will be the first person ever to take the role of President in the two most influential simulation organisations in Europe.
