1. The MUEC challenge
Welcome to our first newsletter edition of 2009;
First of all we will like to invite you to the official launch of this year MUEC challenge this thursday 12th of March.
At 6:30pm we will be presenting the forum “Opening Your Own Path: when creating your own job is the best option”.
At 7:30pm we will offer a reception to officially kick off this year’s Challenge (MUEC 2009).
This year competition features a new format, running over a single calendar year, from the 13th of march, when registration for the competition will be open, until the finals night the 18th of may.
After registration teams will work over a month with their mentors to prepare and submit an executive summary of their business plan that will be pitched to the judges in the first round and will be refined and pitch again in the finals.
We look forward to seeing you at the launch.

2. Introducing MBSEC
To better address the growing interest in the MUEC challenge and entrepreneurship in general among MBS students we have created the Melbourne Business School Entrepreneurship Club (MBSEC) a student group based in the Melbourne Business School with a common interest: promoting and supporting entrepreneurship in the wider community.
MBSEC will focus in organizing the competition as well as hosting other events and inviting speakers during the year to facilitate networking, share knowledge and support people interested in exploring entrepreneurship.
MBSEC aims are to:
Educate in entrepreneurship through public lectures, workshops, round tables and forums.
Provide a safe environment to practice entrepreneurship through business planning and pitching competitions;
Provide a network for the Melbourne Business School, University of Melbourne, investment and industry community to engage into entrepreneurial activities. -
