    The Big Bang! is excited to announce it's weekly newsletter, which will be sent on Mondays from now until June. It will include important contest information, upcoming deadlines and events, and any news from the local entrepreneurial community.

    Comprehensive information about Big Bang! is always available on our website.

    Big Bang! also has a new blog - Innovation into Action, which spotlights interesting stories and news related to the competition.

    If you do not want to receive communications from Big Bang! in the future, please unsubscribe using the link at the bottom of this newsletter.

    YouNoodle is an online entrepreneurial community. Along with 50 other business plan competitions, Big Bang! is now using YouNoodle to manage contest events, communications, and announcements. We highly recommend that all members (especially contestants) of the Big Bang! community join our group on YouNoodle. Please read on to find out more.

    YouNoodle is a start-up that develops innovative ways to bring together the information, people and technology that help startups succeed. The New York Times recently featured an article about a team from Stanford that received funding through their involvement in YouNoodle.

    > Why should I sign up?
    Members have access to the following features:
    - Recruit members for you Big Bang! team
    - Connect and communicate with other participants and affiliates
    - Get up-to-date information about the competition
    - Upload your resume to share your professional background and get discovered
    - Build your entrepreneurial network
    - Add the startups you're working on and find other exciting startups.
    - Explore other interesting startups and become a 'follower' of the ones you like.
    - Use Startup Predictor to compare your startup to others

    > Who can join?
    Anyone - investors, students, entrepreneurs, lawyers, etc. The Big Bang! encourages our entire community to get involved.

    > Do I have to sign up in order to receive contest communications?
    No, you can still receive the Big Bang weekly newsletter without being a member. However, you will not have access to the tools mentioned above.

    > Can I see the Big Bang YouNoodle page before signing up?
    Sure, click here. Also check out the YouNoodle page for Stanford’s BASES organization. It is an example of a well-developed entrepreneurial community within YouNoodle.

    ELECTIONS FOR BIG BANG ORGANIZING COMMITTEE

    The Big Bang! is run entirely by students from UC Davis' Graduate School of Management. Elections for the 2009 Big Bang Organizing Committee (BBOC) are taking place this week. Next week's newsletter will feature biographies of the new board, which will officially take over from the current board on January 1.

    *GSM students - remember to send your paragraph to Brandon Hillstead by 5pm on Tuesday October 28. Voting occurs on Thursday October 30 from 8am - 5pm.
